In a career highlighted by winning hole shots, races and three consecutive titles in the Australian Supercross Championship - Australia’s most competitive championship of its type, Dan Reardon is embarking on a new adventure in the US in 2008, racing against the world’s best in the AMA Series.
Beginning his racing career in his hometown of Logan Village in Queensland, Australia at the age of 5, Dan was encouraged from day one by his parents Tony and Annette to enjoy his racing.
As a junior, his motivation for competing was simply for the love of riding. Hitting the local tracks with his peers, Dan enjoyed the social aspects of riding and racing in his early years.
Although he showed signs of looming talent from an early age, he only really embraced his full potential in 2004, when he finished runner-up in the SEL Supercross Series in the Pro Lites class aboard his 250F.
Motivated by winning races and a determination to pursue a full-time racing career, Dan took his success one step higher the following season, winning the 2005 Australian Supercross Championship.
Factory teams quickly recognized his determination and commitment, and Dan signed to pilot the 450F in the Pro Open class of both the Australian Supercross and Motocross Championships in 2006.
Not one to do anything in halves, Dan was determined to give his racing career every opportunity to experience success when signed with his first factory ride. With foresight and determination, Dan employed his own personal mechanic and trainer, freeing him to focus on training and developing his race craft. Having a mechanic and personal trainer with the same vision and beliefs, Dan was able to commit 100 percent of his time to training and riding.
As an indication of his commitment to reaching the highest level of his sport, Dan became the first rider in Australia to employ his own fulltime personal practice mechanic in order to have all bases covered both on and off the racetrack. His significant investment into his future is a true reflection of his belief that he has what it takes to race with the world’s best.
Dan quickly established a reputation for being the championship ‘dark horse’ in his season debut, winning the Australian Supercross Title and finishing one place shy of winning the 2006 Australian Motocross Championship. Dan reconfirmed to Australia and the world that he is Australia’s newest talent, when he took his 2006 success one step higher and won both the Australian Supercross and Motocross Pro Open Titles in 2007.
In 2008, Dan will pilot the CRF250R for premiere Honda team, Torco Racing Fuels Honda. With the support of his loyal fans in Australia, the USA and across the world, 2008 will be another exciting chapter in the Dan Reardon story.
